We want to keep your lawn as green as possible during June, July and August. We apply weed control and either a granular or liquid fertilizer – depending on your lawns specific needs. Whether granular or liquid your fertilizer treatment included a balanced blend of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and iron. We apply up to one pound of nitrogen to give it its maximum green.
A good fertilizing requires good watering to be effective and prevent lawn burn. We expect you will water your lawn well after this treatment. Mid-summer you should be soaking your lawn well 3 to 4 days each week (5 to 6 days for sandy soils). A good soak = 25 minutes for most pop-up spray sprinklers or 60 minutes for most rotor type sprinklers. Infrequent and deep watering will save you money and prevent many summertime lawn diseases. Mowing your lawn high (3 inches) and regularly is also a great way to promote strong lawn growth and save water.
